Profesor Juan Pedro Ronconi, recently presented his research at a research gathering Held in Berkeley University, California.

The meeting was organiced by the Lab for Inclusive Fintech (LIFT), Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) and the Innovations for Poverty Actions (IPA) gathered speakers from national and international universities. Took place between October 7th 8th at the Berkeley Haas School of Business.

The Study

Juan Pedro Ronconi presented his paper titled “Nudges, Managerial Planning, and Small Firm Performance: Evidence from Online Commerce” which examines the importance of commercial and strategic planning in entrepreneurship. The author leveraged an experiment involving 9,700 small e-commerce firms in Argentina and Brazil.

“It is a paper that shows the importance of managerial planning for the good performance of small businesses, especially during events like Black Friday, and documents how behavioral interventions can enhance better organization to address difficulties and obstacles,” explains Professor Ronconi.

The Event

The event featured the participation of professors and postdoctoral researchers from prestigious universities such as UC Berkeley, Harvard University, Yale University, Universidad de Los Andes, and organizations like the World Bank and IPA, who presented their research. “It was an opportunity to discuss both my own research projects and those of others, and to enrich myself as a researcher” Ronconi added.
