Lab Associate Carolina Melo Travels to New Zealand to Strengthen Research Networks on Open Science.

Carolina Melo, Lab Associate at the Human Development Lab recently traveled to New Zealand to visit prestigious universities and expand research networks on Open Science.

This trip, organized by the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research, aims to foster international collaboration and strengthen connections as part of two key institutional projects at Universidad de los Andes: the BICI project led by the Innovation Directorate and the Open Science Index initiative, spearheaded by the Library team.

Melo, along with four other university representatives, will visit four leading institutions in New Zealand—three in Auckland and one in Christchurch. These meetings aim to establish new partnerships and explore opportunities for collaborative research in the framework of Open Science and innovation.

“This is a unique opportunity to connect with experts abroad, discuss best practices, and create lasting networks. These visits will allow us to learn from other institutions and further position our university in Open Science and innovation,” said Carolina Melo before departing.

The visit is part of Universidad de los Andes’ commitment to advancing global research collaborations, enhancing institutional initiatives, and promoting knowledge exchange.
