Francisco Morales, Associate Researcher at the Human Development Lab, recently presented his work at leading academic events in France and Spain. His participation contributed to strengthening international research networks and receiving valuable feedback on his current projects.
On June 10ᵗʰ, Morales presented his paper “Tight versus Loose: Resource Integration and Organizational Performance” at IESEG School of Management, Lille, France. The study examines how different approaches to integrating resources affect organizational performance, offering new insights into the role of strategic design in dynamic environments.
From June 13ᵗʰ to 14ᵗʰ, he participated in the 8ᵗʰ annual Strategy Science Conference, hosted by IESE Business School in Barcelona and co-sponsored by the journal Strategy Science. Morales presented “The Impact of Immigration on Firms’ Human Capital Strategy,” which analyzes how the immigration shock in Chile over the past decade has influenced firms’ human capital decisions. His findings suggest that companies often reorganize their internal structures in response to increased immigration.
Prior to the main conference, the Strategy Science Doctoral Workshop took place on June 12ᵗʰ. Aimed at early-stage PhD students, the workshop supported researchers in the initial phases of their dissertation work and included participation in the full conference program.
