Researcher Pelusa Orellana served as co-editor of the book Enseñar a leer y escribir: Teoría y práctica, alongside Katherine Strasser. The volume, published by Ediciones UC, aims to provide evidence and concrete tools to improve literacy processes in the classroom.

Published in March 2026, the book brings together theoretical and practical contributions aimed at both pre-service and in-service teachers, with the goal of strengthening the teaching of reading and writing from an evidence-based perspective.

In this work, Orellana takes on an editorial role, bringing together different contents that address pedagogical strategies, language development, and effective teaching practices. Her work is framed within an academic trajectory focused on the study of reading and language development.

This publication is part of an ongoing line of work developed by the researcher, who has highlighted the importance of promoting educational environments that strengthen both technical skills and students’ relationship with reading.

In this way, the book seeks to become a key resource to advance one of the main challenges in the education system: improving reading comprehension from the early years of schooling.
