A researcher from the Human Development Lab at Universidad de los Andes is part of the initiative “Por un Chile que Lee”, which was recently recognized at the ColaboraX 2025 Recognition Ceremony—an event that highlights multisectoral collaborations with national impact.
Representing the initiative, Carolina Melo attended the ceremony, where the recognition acknowledged joint efforts across the public, private, academic, and civil society sectors to address the reading crisis affecting children in Chile.
“Por un Chile que Lee” is a collaborative network that brings together organizations committed to improving reading outcomes and addressing the country’s literacy gap through coordinated action.
Reflecting on the recognition, Carolina Melo emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting that addressing the reading crisis in Chile requires aligning efforts across the public, private, academic, and civil society sectors around a shared goal.
The recognition was granted by ColaboraX, a national platform that identifies and showcases initiatives where different sectors work together to drive meaningful change. In its first edition, ColaboraX received more than 300 applications nationwide.
This distinction highlights the contribution of Human Development Lab researchers to collaborative efforts aimed at improving learning outcomes and expanding educational opportunities in Chile.
