Andrés Barrios, Director of the Human Development Lab (HDL) at Universidad de los Andes, presented his research “Gender, Child Development, and the Intergenerational Transmission of Human Capital” at the Summer Course on the Economics of Education hosted by the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander, Spain.

The presentation was part of UIMP’s annual summer program, which brings together researchers and academics to discuss current challenges and advances in the field of education economics. Barrios shared findings from his work on the relationship between gender, early childhood development, and the mechanisms through which human capital is transmitted across generations.

His participation highlights the Human Development Lab’s continued engagement with international academic communities and its commitment to producing research that contributes to a deeper understanding of education and human development.
