Policy Panel
The policy panel is organized by the Human Development Lab of the Universidad de los Andes, Chile. It is part of the series “Chile in Construction: Debates for the Future” and will focus on the relationship between universities and public policy. The event aims to bring together leading academics and policymakers to discuss how universities can contribute to the policymaking process and strengthen the relationship between academic research and public institutions.
The panel brings together Joshua Goodman, Professor of Economics and Education at Boston University; Gabriel Ugarte, Undersecretary of Social Evaluation of Chile; and Andrea Repetto, Professor and Director of the School of Government at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Welcome remarks will be delivered by Ignacio Illanes Guzmán, Vice-Rector of Universidad de los Andes, and the discussion will be moderated by Andrés Barrios Fernández, Director of the Human Development Lab. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with the speakers on the role of academic research in addressing Chile’s public policy challenges.
Venue
The policy panel will take place at the Auditorio A of the Biblioteca Building. The main entrance to the campus is located at Monseñor Álvaro del Portillo 12.455, Las Condes. The panel will start at 8:30am, but registration and coffee will begin at 8:00am. There will be coffee and biscuits for participants.
